I'm always struck by how good your characterization is, even in a little WIP thing like this, but do people ever tell you how smooth your language is? I'm having difficulty finding the right words here. The words never get in the way of the story. Does that make sense? You always manage to create the right mood and tension, but it's not something I think about when I read your fics and that's how it's supposed to be. *scratches head*
