The switch intrigues a lot of people... it's extremely common for it to come up in fic because of this, I guess. I mean, it doesn't make a lot of sense but it's PoT so sense is not mandatory but it IS fun to play with. Some extremely odd things get done with it sometimes, though... I guess I tried to make it more... straightforward than it is in many fics? in some respects, at least. ^^
