Title: Dangerous Games (Part 2 of 2)
Characters: Niou, Yagyuu (Yukimura; Oishi, Eiji)
Rating: NC-17 (to be safe as much as anything. Plenty of m/m sex, but not the most explicit thing ever.)
Summary: AU. The city isn't just home to humans; other stranger creatures coexist with them, keeping out of sight, hunting and behing hunted.
Two men meet in a bar. Filth, really. :D Contins sex, violence, not!Vampires, mixed mythologies, and a possibly alarming quantity of fluff at some points, considering the genre.

Fic! Part two will follow relatively soon. (This doesn't even mean "oh, yeah, I swear I'll write the rest soon," it means, "I have written the rest, and people are currently reading it to tell me if it's crap or not before I post it." Just sayin'. Felt it might be worth something, given my track record with multi-part fic.)
Also, this breaks at a fairly random point. It only breaks at all because LJ can't cope with 12,000 words in one shot. >_>

Hello. I have a retardedly pointless ficlet for you today. Oh dear...

Blame [livejournal.com profile] yuki_scorpio for the beginning, and [livejournal.com profile] elyndys for the middle. The end... *shrug* I'm sure it's someone else's fault. It couldn't possibly be mine. Could it? >) (I suck at writing this type of thing, so... never mind. :D )

Edit: Oh, screw it *grabs the uncreative title and runs with it for lack of better ideas* (I hate titles, can you tell?)

Title: Lunch
Rating: PG
Characters: Niou, Yagyuu
Summary etc: Niou doesn't get lunch. Yagyuu pays the price. Characters still aren't mine. Somewhere in the region of 1200 words.

What do you mean, you didn't bring any food? )
firstlight: (Yagyuu)
...I can't believe this is over. Ok. Please excuse any typos in this, I'm not entirely sure where my usual checking-through people have gone. I'll fix stuff as I find it. >_>"" This chapter was written over the space of... goodness... four months? Five months? Too long. It was written in three different notebooks and using multiple different computers, at least one of which did not have a QWERTY keyboard. Life is chaotic as ever. :D I realise that the summary is no longer an accurate or at least anywhere near full description, but I fail at summaries. Live with it. :) (It's not very complete. There are other fics waiting to happen in the same universe. But Niou & Yagyuu's part is over, so this is complete.)

Title: Gentleman and Trickster (9 of 9)
Fandom: Prince of Tennis
Pairings/characters: Niou/Yagyuu, implied Yanagi/Kirihara
Rating: PG-13
Warnings/Disclaimer: violence, language, slash, not mine.
Summary: Welcome to the streets of Tokyo, in the not-so-distant future. Meet Niou and Yagyuu, a slightly unlikely pair, running errands for whoever will pay. Cyberpunk AU.

Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Part 4 - Part 5 - Part 6 - Part 7 - Part 8

An ending, of sorts. )
firstlight: (Death)
Here. Against my better judgment... I fail at writing this pairing. I fail at writing Fuji. Therefore what you get is vague UST and probably horrible OOC-ness, but I swear I tried. >_> Quite possibly the only fic I will write for these guys, because I find it so hard to work with them. *hides behind Niou and Yagyuu* *uses Death icon as the most appropriate thing, for lack of any Tezuka OR Fuji icons* XDD

Title: Tension
Rating: PG
Characters: Tezuka, Fuji
Summary: Assassins AU. Tension in the space between preparation and the kill. Short ficlet. In which nothing happens. All her fault... Shockingly enough, I still don't own PoT.

Why do we do this? )

Title: Sleepless
Rating: G
Fandom: Saiyuki
Characters: Sanzo, Goku
Summary: not-quite-drabble. Sanzo watches the rain and Goku watches Sanzo. ([livejournal.com profile] dystopiarcadia was throwing me random prompts on one of the many trains we've taken together recently and this one came out better than most of them.)

Sleepless )

Title: Remembered Moments
Rating: R overall (1-5 are pretty much G.)
Characters: Niou Masaharu and Yagyuu Hiroshi (from the age of seven through to some time in their 20s)
Notes: A series of snippets (up to about 500 words each). 10 things Niou remembers (or possibly nine things he remembers and one he can’t quite place); first times for various things he considers important or generally interesting. Pretty fluffy, as D1 goes. For [livejournal.com profile] elyndys. Happy birthday! (To keep you going until the Saiyuki thing of wrongness and crossdressing is complete.) This is the completed version, containing the two parts which were missing when I showed you the older version this morning. Only posted about an hour after the end of your birthday... *cough*
please excuse the title. It's 1 am and I haven't been sleeping much lately due to... having a lot of fun with friends, mostly.

Hah. Fear my ability to lie about the number of sections any given fic will have.

As with the first part, this part does have closure of its own, so it's not like you're being left hanging for a third part - just that there will eventually be one, when I have the time and attention span.
[Edit] Actually, it's complete. Part three? Is a sequel, because the style of writing is substantially different and Connect was put there as a get-together fic anyway, so it's really fulfilled its purpose in these two parts.

Oh yes - and as of about three hours' time I'll no longer have a net connection, so lack of response to anything you have to say about this isn't me being rude, it's me being off in a tent in a field somewhere in Eastern England without a computer. For the next five weeks. So don't hold your breath for updates to anything else, either...

I finally decided to stop beating myself up over quality and just post this. So here it is.

Title: Connect (2/2)
Rating: PG/PG-13
Characters: Niou, Yagyuu; Yagyuu's POV. (No longer gen.)
Summary: Niou and Yagyuu build a relationship. This section set in high school. The tennis seems to be hiding again. Oops. XD

Part One

Connect )
firstlight: (Default)
Here we go. Fic time again. Not the fic people are hoping to see from me, I know. Sorry.

Not a startlingly original fic. And not complete, either, because I fail at finishing what I start. Goodness knows how I do at writing them as teenage boys. XD It's all rather a new experience, frankly.

This fic was begun as a birthday present for [livejournal.com profile] blue_emotion and continued with [livejournal.com profile] suboshiyui's birthday in mind, which I maintain is why the SanaYuki hints began creeping into the second section. Hope Jess had a fantastic birthday and that Sarit will have a good day too! ♥ both of you. Jess, sweetheart, you're an awesome friend, and I'm really glad we're in contact again after letting things drift for so long. Sarit, you're an absolute darling for putting up with me when you have so much of your own stuff going on and, horrible and bratty as I am, I really like talking to you.

I know, I'm way cheap, one unfinished fic for two people's birthdays.

Title: Connect (1/2 but can stand alone if you like)
Characters: Rikkai. Yagyuu and Niou, Yagyuu's POV. Pairings are lurking. read in as much D1 and SanaYuki as you please. Not quite gen.
Rating: PG for this part. Maybe higher for the rest?
Summary: This fic does not know what it is. It's about the developing relationship between Niou and Yagyuu, and about growing up just a little bit, and about my denial regarding the eventual outcome of PoT tennis. Kind of. You got it -- it's not AU. Except if you count my denial about the nationals.
One more part to come after this. If all goes well it will be posted today. But you know what my track record is like. >_<

I'm really sorry for any errors, this could seriously have been more thoroughly checked over.

'I'm not actually sorry, you know.' )

Part Two
firstlight: (Death)
I wrote this a while ago for [livejournal.com profile] vacivity. I'm reposting it because, against all probability, I actually quite like it and keep losing it as it's just in a comment on an entry.

Neverwhere, Richard and Door, about 300 words, with the prompt "Tonight the stars are shining bright", which is a line from a song by Front242 (Circling Overland). Richard is kind of clueless, and the stars are shining bright. No warnings whatsoever.

Right.

I'm alive! And so is the fic! See?

I lied about the number of chapters. It was going to be all one thing but it got too long. Predictably. Oops.

I'm slightly nervous about posting this part. Might edit more heavily later. For now, posting it before I change my mind.

Title: Gentleman and Trickster (8 of 9)
Fandom: Prince of Tennis
Pairing: Niou/Yagyuu, implied Yanagi/Kirihara
Rating: PG-13
Warnings/Disclaimer: violence, language, UST, not mine.
Summary: Welcome to the streets of Tokyo, in the not-so-distant future. Meet Niou and Yagyuu, a slightly unlikely pair, running errands for whoever will pay. Cyberpunk AU.
(Now the shiny somewhat-cleaned-up version! Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] elenya54 for giving my grammar a good kicking. Actual plot and characterisation remain as shoddy as ever, though. *grin* )

Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Part 4 - Part 5 - Part 6 - Part 7

All in all, things were just fantastic. )
firstlight: (Default)
No title for this, yet. A bit of plot lurking in my mind waiting to attach itself to the thing, though there's no evidence of any such thing so far in the writing. I'm almost certainly going to expand it.

Jackal and Marui. Cyberpunk. They wanted a piece of the action.

I know. I should be writing other things. For now, I'm just throwing this at you lot. Have fun.

I'm posting it because if I just save it it'll sit on my harddrive and get lost and then I'll rediscover it in six months and forget what on earth I was going to do with it.

The world is monochrome. Slick black tarmac, glaring white light, rough grey concrete. Dull clouds that shift between black and white but live mostly in the space between. Rain. No colours stand out; everything is defined by texture. A black-and-white photograph, high-contrast but beginning to fade. The rain blurs things in the distance.

His feet (covered in black boots, waterproof) splash through puddles on the uneven tarmac of the walkway. The droplets of water that fly up in his wake are black in the shadows, shining white under the electric strip-lights. He’s dressed in dark clothes. The shirt might be blue but he’s avoiding the light, mostly, so it doesn’t really show. It looks charcoal-black.

He can’t see his partner. This is the place they said they’d meet. He knows he’s on time.

His partner will be somewhere nearby.

Where are you?

~Here.

That’s not helpful.

~Look behind you.

He looks.

There’s colour in the world, a flash of red breaking up the shades of grey.

“Bunta,” he says, just a little frustration in his voice. How did Bunta get behind him again? But Marui Bunta is a law unto himself. The redhead straightens up from his position lounging against a wall, smiles, winks, snaps his gum. He’s always chewing gum.

“How did you get there?” Jackal asks, though his tone is gentle, amused rather than angry.

“I’m just that much of a genius, I guess,” Bunta tells him laughingly, pointing fingers at him like a kid pretending to aim a gun. Bang, you’re dead.

Jackal smiles.
firstlight: (D1)
...no, no, there's no point to this at all, really... *eyes the scrap of fic* written in about ten minutes flat. Cryptic? Annoying? Probably. Bad use of required quote? Definitely. Allowing me to just write and post something, even something insubstantial, when everything else is frustrating me? You got it.

Still have reservations about quality. But see what you think.

The final part gets all the action. Here, we have yet more talking. I'm sorry. ;)

Title: While it Lasts
Characters: Marui; Rikkai in general, especially Jackal. No real pairings, but maybe some hints.
Rating: G
Disclaimer: The characters aren't mine. Surprise. Shock. Horror.

Notes: Appears to have turned out to dwell in the same timeline as a Sanada/Yukimura fic I'm writing at present. Set some years after the series. In a shocking turn of events, contains very little D1 (though there is a bit of Niou). End of world may be near.
Written for a challenge by [livejournal.com profile] dystopiarcadia, the exact terms of which I have unfortunately lost. But it was to be a fic about Marui, set after the series, containing reflection on fate vs. hard work in maintaining friendships. Or something. I apologise if I wrote entirely the wrong thing. It's basically me finally getting around to writing something we said we'd do ages ago -- namely, a fic about Marui which didn't just involve food. No small challenge!
I apologise for any typos: wrote this on a computer without proper word-processing software (??!), and spell-checked it on LJ, which keeps trying to give me American spellings for things. So I may have missed some bad spelling in there. Checked through repeatedly, edited a bit, but still rather raw.
Ended up less angsty than I expected; Marui does kind of repel angst after all.

Phew. I'm not entirely happy with this. I stole VR from Shadowrun and Snow Crash, which is not what I'm unhappy about (because frankly, I'm writing fanfiction anyway :P ). What I'm unhappy about is Niou and Kirihara. Their personalities are a bit broken and I can't quite fix them.

Oh, and not a complaint, but a note: if 'ice' in this context is intrusion countermeasure electronics (or the stuff you use to keep people out of your computer system), then 'icebreakers' do exactly what it says on the tin... go read some Gibson now. ;)
