Anime (Bleach 117, Naruto)
Allow me to flail over episode 117 of Bleach, OMG. *__* Too much time spent referring back to the filler arc (XD always in such a token way, it amuses me) but otherwise, OMG OMG OMG. Rukia. How damn awesome is Rukia? Rukia is AWESOME. Guh. Sword. I. *flail* (Hi, people who might previously have commented on my coherency. It all breaks down in the face of new episodes of Bleach, yes.)
The anime is still a source of much excitement as I haven't got beyond the point the anime is at in the manga yet. *g* And oh how I am coming to hate that "to be continued..." message. Again. Just as in Soul Society. Can't wait to see more of Ikkaku and Yumichika... 11th division are batshit insane and I love them.
Oh, heh heh, I saw part of an episode of post-filler Naruto the other day. Not convinced. But I am bitter about how much of my life that show stole, so it would take a lot of convincing... sure. Sasuke actually is sort of hot now. I never thought he was before, but his older self looks decent. I do hear Ishida when I hear him speak now, though. For quite a while it was the other way 'round because I watched a lot of Naruto before I watched much Bleach, but I have so much more love for Ishida than for Sasuke that... well. ;) But the fact that they managed to get flashbacks in before the opening credits even got there doesn't really bode well. I guess I can forgive them after the hundred episodes of filler or whatever the hell it was, as everyone has probably forgotten that there ever was a plot, but it's Naruto. I think it should be given a restraining order regarding flashbacks. Or the director should have to write an essay justifying his use of flashbacks every time more than a certain percentage of the episode is old material, and submit it for approval before flashback permission is granted.
The pacing is still kind of crap too but that goes along with the above complaint, really. Naruto could have been maybe eighty episodes long, at the same point in the plot, and something approaching a decent series. But. It isn't.
Sigh.
Maybe the manga is decent. I don't really care enough any more to go and find out. ;)
The one high point of the episode for me, really, was the presence of Gaara. The tourist information village (XD) has long been the coolest thing about Naruto. Which... isn't saying much?
Won't be following this one, I guess. Syl will probably tell me approximately what happens. *g*
And I re-downloaded episode 33 of Saiunkoku, and it worked. Phew. *stares happily at it* Mmmm... :)

I kinda hated the fact that they put that first part in Naruto at the very beginning. D= But I love it. XD *reads the manga more though, which is better than the anime, in my opinion. XD*
Gaara <3

XD I followed Naruto with dedication from pretty early on in the life of the anime, but never read the manga. Even before the filler began the pacing was killing me, but eh. I'm guessing the manga probably would be a lot better if I could get over my bias (which is unlikely to happen *g* ).

Yea, the pacing sucks. XD Naruto Shippuuden 4 reminded me of this fact. D8

Would you believe, the pacing of the Naruto post-filler anime is /better/, in places, than the manga? That's just sad. Of course, that whole damn studio still can't pace a battle to save their wizened little souls. And the anime Sakura is too damn flat! She has /boobs/, now, people, come on!

Really? That... concerns me. A lot. *headdesks* Oh well. I feel vindicated in my decision to ignore Naruto. I could quite happily have kept on doing so, but a couple of people decided that I at least had to see some of the more recent stuff to judge properly. I have seen. I have judged. Turning my attention fully back to Bleach now. ;)

Because Tsunade really did turn her into a miniature version of herself XD
I agree with the pacing -but hey, at least the animators have woken up from their coma now, and the characters manage to look decent, which, hey, it's Naruto we're talking about here. :p

Also I follow your opinions on Naruto to the letter. I have watched some of it (all though I really only became a Gaara fangirl after he was voiced by Liam O'Brien; mostly I'm in it for the Rock Lee) but the PACING just kills me dead. I have heard the manga is much better but I just... can't... care enough anymore to find out XD

Naruto is pretty much filed under 'lost cause' in my mind now. But I don't care. Because I have Bleach to keep me happy. :D
