Miyajima was my favourite place in Japan, when I visited. I also felt exactly the same way about Hiroshima -- it has a real sense of life and moving on, which I love. I went to Auschwitz, in Poland, and the town has exactly the opposite atmosphere, it felt so...draining to be there. It made me really sad.
