I am happy to report that the Ben Crouch Tavern is still alive and well (or possibly undead, given the nature of the pub in question). Rumours of its demise have been greatly exagerated.

Also, have I mentioned how novel it is to come home from a pub and not have hair that stinks of cigarette smoke?

That's good to know. :) And presumably you can now tell me where it is, so I can find it again. Or do you think it's one of those places you can only find when the moon is in the right phase, or the planets line up just right? :D

I think I have the art of finding it mastered now, though we did wander in circles far more than I usually have to to find anything before we actually got there. We'll see next time I try to find it, I suppose. If I get lost again then there's definitely something about the stars needing to be right.
