I'm enjoying this. For all Pez kept telling me the main series was crappy and old (in terms of the way it looks), it's a lot of fun. :D;;;

...I fangirl Hisoka. Is this wrong? Probably. Do I care? Not really. But I like most of the characters. Lots. I do.

Why yes. I do seem to be working my way through anime series everyone else saw years ago. *grin* It's fun.

Hisoka is like the prototype psychopathic serial killer who gets off (quite literally) from killing people. Especially from killing strong fighters. And goes to the trouble of 'nurturing' potentially strong fighters (he calls them 'unripe fruit') so that he can eventually get a bigger high from killing them. Like Gon, the protagonist of HxH.

HxH is a pretty amazing series; it's almost worth checking out for Hisoka alone. Funny thing is, it has about a million parallels with Naruto, but just about everything Naruto does, HxH does in a more interesting way. (Killua >>>>> Sasuke).

Mm, I've made my way right through the anime now (except the Greed Island OVAs, which are still sitting on my to-watch list) & have read the manga up to Hisoka and Gon's fight in the celestial tower. Hisoka is a wonderful character, in a psychotic sort of way...

Oh, yes. I'm very fond of the other characters, as well (poor Leorio does seem to be the only character in the whole series with his head on straight, though!) -- and I hadn't thought of that comparison with Naruto, but now you mention it... (Really not enamored with Naruto, though -- if HxH is a series where I find the characters pretty universally interesting, Naruto is exactly the opposite. I couldn't especially care about most of the characters or their struggles.)

I ADORE HxH!!! It's one of my favouritest series ever! I have a huge soft spot for kids go on adventure type stories, and HxH is one of the most sympathetic of the sort I've ever seen. I downloaded the first five episodes from AnimeSuki on a whim, without ever having heard of the series, and was hooked from the very first episode. ♥ Gon is one of the few shounen heroes I've ever liked; I adore the little guy! ♥ ♥ ♥

And I too have an unhealthy love for Hisoka. And Kuroro. And the crazy Zoldyeck family (whose name gets spelled differently all. the. time) XD

Is it possible to actually dislike Gon? He's just... yeah, adorable. In a good way.

Mmmmmm, Hisoka. He's so... special. In a lilac-clad, mass-murdering sort of way. (I'm 26 episodes in. Or 27. Or something. I'm losing track. Around there, anyway... XD the final test in the hunter exam.)

Gon reminds me of - well, he is - one of those people who just don't know when to give up. In that way I really can't stand him; I think he's really selfish. >_>

Yeah, but he's pleasantly so. He's not screechy and flaily (hi Goku!), he's not grumpy and noisy (hi Ichigo!) and he doesn't nag much. He just keeps on rolling, and he's frienly and smily and ... just cute. Even when he does go over the top (I got particularly =_= at him when he tried to get past that girl in the Zoldyeck gardens), I still forgive him. It's never gonna happen, but I would love to see him find his dad some day and kick his ass out through his teeth! ♥ ^_^V

I want to grope Hisoka's butt. And he is absolute king of hot with his hair down, straight out of the shower. Make sure Liz catches that scene. Many, many times. ;)
