I'm still alive, but hiding behind books.

1. Comment on this post.
2. I will give you a letter.
3. Think of 5 fictional characters whose name starts with that letter and post their names and your comments on these characters in your LJ.
Lynn gave me 'G'. Annnnnnnnnd... I ramble! :D
1. Sha Gojyo (Saiyuki) -- okay, fine. I adore Gojyo. I used to think I liked Hakkai better, but somehow Gojyo is pretty much my favourite character of the main Saiyuki series these days (though I still like Tenpou best overall). Not liking him would be like kicking a puppy, albeit a puppy that tries to pretend it's really damn badass. Also he's the universe's punching-bag and someone should just give him a damn hug.
2. Gon (Hunter x Hunter) -- Gon is probably the most interesting shonen protagonist I've seen in a while (note: I haven't made it far enough into YYH to compare and contrast there). I don't always love him - he's nowhere near my favourite character in the series - but I'm fond of him, which is kind of unusual in itself. He's interestingly chaotic and lacking in actual morality (in the truer sense, not the evil sense; it seems like he judges things more on whether they interest him than anything), although every once in a while he's so bloody-minded I join Killua in wanting to throttle him for his own good...
3. Gilbert (Sandman) - AKA Fiddler's Green. I don't know what to say about him in general, though I always rather liked him, in a quiet sort of way; his eventual fate is what sticks with me the most, and I will say no more about that. *g*
4. Sanada Genichirou (Prince of Tennis) - Oh Sanada. Okay. I'm probably not as big on Sanada as, like... everyone else I know. I adore him! I just lack that edge of mad love. *eyes Pez, and Val, and...* Anyway. Sanada is a character in an anime about teenagers playing sports, which is odd, because he is clearly a character from an anime about samurai and epic battles. His presence is obviously the result of a bizarre accident. It's probably Yukimura's fault.
5. Ichimaru Gin (Bleach) -- I'm a hundred chapters behind on Bleach, before we start on this one. *g* I honestly just disliked him when I first saw the anime; these days I don't think I have any really strong feelings on the topic. In general, actually, the Bleach villains seem to stand as pretty good villains but I can't really click with them ever so well in a fangirlish way. Looking at the trends of my favourite characters across most other series, this is possibly surprising... (My favourite characters in Bleach are actually quite many and varied; I'm especially fond of Shunsui and Ukitake, and 11th division in general, and...)
Even more tangentally, the Tea moment with Aizen was probably one of the only times I had a little moment of fangirlish glee over a Bleach villain. Go figure, right?
